Research Interests

• Computational geometry;
• Algorithms and data structures (particularly those with a geometric flavor);
• GPU-based computing;
• Algorithm engineering;
• Program design, robustness and reliability;
• Applications of geometric algorithms and data structures in, e.g., computer-aided (geometric) design and computer-aided manufacturing, geographical information systems; computer graphics, visual computing, and virtual reality.

Research Projects

I am the head of the Computational Geometry and Applications Lab within the "Visual Computing and Multimedia" Research Group at our department. (At present, I'm also the head of the entire VCM research group.) I have recently started to assemble a few pages with short descriptions of (or color images related to) some of the application-oriented research projects which my students and I have (or had been) working on. This WWW presentation of current and previous research projects is work in progress; please bear with me (and check back to see whether I've already gotten around to adding new stuff).
