Problem Description

The netJEN framework providing rich functionality for the evolution of ANNs should be improved and extended with the evolution of ANN I/O representation. Though, the numerical representation of concepts of the problem to be solved by an ANN is the important link between symbolic and sub--symbolic descriptions, representations are mostly built on human intuition. An evolutionary approach generating problem--adapted representations might be a step towards improving ANN performance.
