Problem Description

fuzJEN combines Evolutionary Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic in order to automatically generate problem-adapted Fuzzy Controllers. The goal of the project is to develop a Java framework for the evolution of Fuzzy Controllers which can be used for research, teaching and practice (e.g., a fuzzy controller is currently the "brain" of our small robot named EMMA).

Problem Solution

There are three main steps in the developing process:

Development of a Fuzzy package including linguistic variables, fuzzy rules, membership functions, defuzzyfication, Import/Export-Filters etc.
Combination of the JEvolution package (Evolutionary Algorithms) and the RMITask package (distribution of computation) with the Fuzzy Controller package
Construction of a Graphical User Interface
